When Quitman and Mineral Springs decided to play a football game, both schools were looking for a neutral site because of the great distance between the two schools. After putting out feelers to several schools, it was decided upon to play the game at Henderson State University’s Carpenter-Haygood Stadium in Arkadelphia. “I think it’s going to just be a good experience for our kids,” Quitman coach DJ Marrs said.

“When I talked to Coach Hathcock and got this game scheduled, we talked about the distance we had to travel. It would be almost three hours apart. We talked about trying to find a stadium.

We reached out to a couple of colleges, and Henderson got back to us and was excited to do it. Javascript is required for you to be able to read premium content. Please enable it in your browser settings.
