Buildings will be demolished to make way for 50 new homes

Plans for a development comprising 50 new homes have been approved. The application submitted to Mid Sussex District Council has been under consideration for over two years, first being raised in September 2022. The council has now given the green light to the demolition of the Wealden House Life Improvement Centre EDF Wealden House and former EDF offices in Lewes Road, East Grinstead and the building of 15 apartments and 35 houses.

The houses will contain a mixture of two, three and four bedrooms while the flats will be inside two three-storey buildings. READ MORE: Plans for new mosque in vacant building trigger controversial reaction The plans, submitted by GCP Developments and Weald Investments, also include “a play area and open space designed to form a landscaped green feature at the entrance”. A total of 105 car parking spaces have also been proposed as part of the application.
