Artwork produced by local people will inspire new public art to be installed alongside a multi-million pound development. Free art and craft workshops took place at the recently opened Horwich Health & Wellbeing Hub led by artist Alison Greyer. Budding artists created hundreds of pieces of artwork, which is now set to be used as inspiration for pieces of public art and exhibited at a community event in 2025 in celebration of Northstone’s new Cynefin development, located off Victoria Road in Horwich .
Cynefin is due to launch phase one of the scheme soon. Once complete, the development will feature more than 200 homes in a variety of three-, four- and five-bedroom styles, with 35 per cent of the scheme set to be affordable housing in partnership with Bolton at Home. Chrissie Bramhall, communities manager at Northstone said: “We were absolutely delighted to be able to partner with Bolton at Home and Horwich Health and Wellbeing Hub to deliver these amazing art workshops, which saw residents of all ages getting creative and having great fun.
“As a homebuilder, we’re really passionate about supporting the communities in which we build. For us, it’s all about the people we’re building the homes for and we want to play our part in ensuring the towns and villages we are working in are thriving and full of community spirit! “The workshops were really well attended which was lovely to see! Huge thanks to Bolton at Home, Horwich Health & Wellbeing, Horwich Library and of course, artist Alison Greyer on what was a very successful series of events.”.
