There has been a lot of recent controversy over the Carolina Panthers benching former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young and whether or not it's too early to make that move. Mayfield also gave Young some words of encouragement as he too knows what it's like to be in an organization with bad surrounding talent. “I mean, I’m sitting here right now in a way better fit than other places I’ve been, and that’s not to put other teams down, but it’s a matter of the pieces around you, the coaches," said Mayfield. "For Bryce, I can relate to this, finding that belief within yourself again, and he’ll get it.
