There's no telling when the Milwaukee Bucks could hit the reset button if their woes continue. This would likely mean moving on from both members of their superstar tandem: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. While Antetokounmpo certainly holds greater value as a near consensus top-three player in the NBA, Lillard could be easier to move because of his lower salary and shorter-term impact.
Plenty of championship contenders would pick up the phone to express interest in the veteran guard, of course, including the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are seemingly a never-ending pit of trade speculation for every star with the chance to become available. FanSided's Craig Miller recently mocked a blockbuster trade between the Bucks, Lakers, and San Antonio Spurs, which would greatly shake up the Western Conference landscape.
The full trade details are as follows: Lakers receive: Damian Lillard, Charles Bassey, Sandro Mamukelashvili Bucks receive: D'Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, 2029 first-round pick (via LAL), 2031 first-round pick (via LAL), 2026 second-round pick (via SA) Spurs receive: Jalen Hood-Schifino, Christian Wood, 2025 second-round pick, 2030 second-round pick (via LAL), 2031 second-round pick (via MIL) Before any Lakers fans get excited, it's a much more likely outcome that the Bucks shift the pieces around Lillard and Antetokounmpo before either is dealt. Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, and Pat Connaughton are all players to watch in a trade in the coming months. On top of that, a coaching change also seems like a greater solution than parting ways with your franchise cornerstone or relatively new superstar.
Doc Rivers has struggled to find success since his days with the 'Lob City' Los Angeles Clippers. Even a mid-season change at the helm could do wonders for the Bucks' hopes of making a deep playoff run this year.
