Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports But in their preparation, they'll be shorthanded on defense. The team announced on Friday that they'll place safety Jordan Whitehead on injured reserve. Whitehead tore a pectoral muscle in Sunday's win over the Giants, and he'll miss at least the next four games.



The Bucs hope he can return before the end of the season for a playoff push. Mike Edwards should see increased playing time in Whitehead's absence. Whitehead is second on the team in tackles this year, posting 76, just one behind team leader Lavonte David.

He's posted two tackles for loss and one quarterback hit to go along with three passes defended.
