Bruce Willis' wife has admitted she feels a "heaviness in my heart" amid the actor's dementia struggles . Emma Heming Willis took to Instagram on Sunday evening to celebrate 17 years since she started dating the Die Hard star . Emma shared a throwback picture of the two of them as they enjoyed a romantic date at the beach .

In the caption, Emma spoke candidly about Bruce's dementia following reports he is now "non-verbal." She said, "17 years of us. Anniversaries used to bring excitement — now, if I’m honest, they stir up all the feelings, leaving a heaviness in my heart and a pit in my stomach.

Love you and thank you for all you do and are doing." Emma's post comes following reports Bruce is now "non-verbal." His friend Glenn Gordon Caron previously told The New York Post the "joie de vivre" Bruce was known for is now gone.

He added, "He's not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader – he didn't want anyone to know that – and he’s not reading now. All those language skills are no longer available to him."
