Khabib Nurmagomedov had to be helped out of the snow after crashing during a recent ski trip in Utah. The legendary former lightweight champion is currently training Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov for their UFC 311 main and co-main events. But he managed to take some time to enjoy the slopes in Utah as things begin to wrap up for the two world title fighters.

The undefeated fighter is set for a busy start to the year; he’ll go straight from Los Angeles to Dubai to corner his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov . In videos he posted to social media, he can be seen falling on a number of occasions. And then in one video he seems to have hit into a rock and landed in a position where his ski is stuck in the ground. He pleads with his teammate filming “brother, you have to help me please” but it is to no avail as he stays on the ground.

Eventually, somebody does come to help him, and in a later post on his Instagram story Nurmagomedov asked his teammate Islam Mamedov “This is called skiing on asphalt, explain why you are laughing?” However, he seemed to be uninjured by the incident. In the caption for his Instagram post, Khabib wrote: “Another great weekend in Utah. This time I thought I was professional, but that was the beginning of all my problems.

Protect yourself all the time. I hope tomorrow morning I’m ready to wrestle.” He also shared a video of the drive to his Instagram stories, and described his time as “an amazing weekend at Utah.

Next week his team will head to Los Angeles for UFC 311 at the new Intuit Dome with Islam Makhachev defending his lightweight belt against Arman Tsarukyan and Umar Nurmagomedov going for Merab Dvalishvili’s bantamweight gold. Once that’s over with, he heads back to the Middle East for an historic night in Dubai.
