Shields' daughter Grier Henchy, 18, walked in the Tommy Hilfiger runway show during NYFW Taylor Hill/Getty; Giovanni Giannoni/WWD via Getty knows when she’s out of her element. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the star opened up about what it was like watching her daughter, Grier Henchy, 18, make her runway debut during the at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 18.

’” Cindy Ord/Getty Images “But she took it very seriously,” the proud mom continued. “She took the schooling from whoever was going to give it to her, and she didn't think she knew better, which I was very proud [of].” Shields, who is also mom to daughter Rowan Henchy, 21, with husband Chris Henchy, initially had major reservations about her daughter’s chosen career path.
