Brock Boeser is staying focused on the game and not the noise surrounding him, which means the final days as a Canuck may be numbered. With stalled contract talks and emotions running high, he is putting his all into the game to get the best out of this year, which could be his last.

Image Via IG Amid all the uncertainties, Brock Boeser , a forward for the Vancouver Canucks , may be staring at what could be his last stretch in a Canucks jersey as the calendar approaches the end of the regular NHL season. With the team fading out of the playoff picture, Boeser has quite candidly stated that a contract extension looks almost impossible. His musings speak of much personal growth, but they are now filled with the mental toll from a hard season, rendering his impending exit even more emotional for fans and teammates alike.

Brock Boeser keeps focus on his play despite contract talks Brock Boeser was steadfast on the ice; nonetheless, he felt he was coming to the end of the era of the Canucks. Although Boeser revealed that talks for a contract extension had come to nought, it could more so be said that the third year of his close to $20 million deal is the last. Instead of thinking of the possibilities of the future, Boeser has been directing all his energies into going out on a high note with the team that drafted him.

Talking recently to Sportsnet, Boeser stated that he is consciously avoiding talking to his agent in order to keep his mind on the game. He reiterated that the mental side of the game is critical for his success on the ice, and distractions usually derail his game. He does believe that by tuning out the off-ice noise he has been playing better, and he wants to keep it that way for the final games.

The 26-year-old forward has had a respectable season, amassing 25 goals and 24 assists in 72 games. Nevertheless, the inconsistencies of the Canucks and their eventual elimination from playoff contention left a bit of a bitter taste for Boeser's run. "I feel like I'm playing a lot better hockey recently, and I don't want to get distracted.

That's one of the things I've learned: When there's distractions, I don't play my best hockey." It was a healing night to play, and the 4-1 win over Colorado helped. That goal was something very important for the children to regain their confidence as DeBrusk, Sherwood, Joshua, and Höglander found the back of the net.

It was a great sign that the Canucks demonstrated - discipline could take them places - and yet, somehow, one suspects that changes might be nearer than far on the horizon. Either way, with his new attitude, he certainly seems to be putting all out in his efforts-whichever way the wind blows-strike that, whichever way the snowstorm blows-whether or not this ends up being his last rodeo with the Canucks.
