The Kansas City Chiefs took a 30-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 11. While Buffalo put an end to Kansas City's perfect record, the Chiefs remain in first place atop the AFC with a 9-1 record. The team's goal for a historic Super Bowl three-peat remains well within reach.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 196 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions against Buffalo. Speaking to reporters on Nov. 20, Mahomes took responsibility for his mistakes against Buffalo.
"There's a couple plays here and there that kind of changed the momentum of the game," he said. But overall, the focus is on moving forward and continuing to get better as team. "We have a lot of veterans so they know what we need to do but obviously a loss kinda heightens everybody's' attention to detail.
I think that's the biggest thing." While the three-time Super Bowl MVP prepares to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 12, his wife, Brittany Mahomes, is also focusing on the future. @brittanylynne/Instagram While some people wait until Thanksgiving to put Christmas decorations, Brittany is not part of that crowd.
"Trees are going up!!," she announced on her Instagram Stories while posting a GIF of her daughter, Sterling, 3, decorating a pink tree. Brittany, who's pregnant with baby No. 3, will likely go all out to decorate the family's palatial estate in Cass County, Missouri, for the holidays.
Considering the Chiefs' upcoming schedule, getting a jump on decorations isn't a bad idea. Kansas City hosts the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. The Chiefs also play again on Christmas Day.
However, this season's holiday game isn't at home at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Dec. 25, which means the Mahomes will not be home for Christmas.
@brittanylynne/Instagram Before the Chiefs-Bills showdown on Sunday, Kansas City's last loss happened against the Raiders on Christmas Day 2023. That game also served as an inspiring catalyst for the Chiefs' surge toward becoming back-to-back Super Bowl champions. "You want to be playing your best football going into the playoffs," Mahomes told reporters on Wednesday.
"As you start getting close to Thanksgiving and everything like that, you want to start showing progression and everything you worked on throughout the year. We're close to doing that." Related: Brittany Mahomes' Exchange With Bills QB's Wife After Chiefs Loss.
