Pop star Jade Thirlwall looked as though she felt awkward during her conversation with comedian Jack Whitehall, according to body language expert Judi James. The singer, now performing solo under the name Jade, made waves at the 2025 Brit Awards this weekend. She wowed the crowd with her stunning vocals while performing her hit song "Angel of My Dreams" and took home the Best Pop Act award.
In her acceptance speech, Jade thanked her supporters and her Little Mix sisters, sharing an emotional moment as she collected her gong. However, it seemed the night didn’t go entirely as smoothly as Jade would have liked. According to body language expert Judi James, the singer appeared uncomfortable after comments made about Little Mix and her merchandise.
Despite the fact that Little Mix hasn’t officially confirmed their permanent split and is merely on a break to focus on solo projects, it seems Jack Whitehall couldn’t resist taking a subtle dig at the group, who parted ways in 2021. Speaking to Paddy Power Games , Judi said: “When Whitehall sat down to roast award-winner Jade, she initially looked happy to see him - but her body language quickly changed when the conversation took a cheeky turn. “The first sign of discomfort came when Jack mentioned the Little Mix ‘hiatus’.
Her smile dropped, her ‘Yes’ response was clipped, and there was a micro-wince of tension. When Jack followed up with, ‘Did you split in a Phil and Holly way?’ her mouth fell open in disbelief, her head jolting back in a visible grimace. Judi went on to discuss their conversation in detail and how the star reacted, saying: “As Jack moved on to the topic of her ‘racy’ merchandise, Jade began to fidget, playing with her hair - a common self-soothing gesture.
Her lips pulled down at the corners, and she even muttered, ‘Sorry, Mum,’ to the woman sitting next to Jack, making it clear she wasn’t entirely comfortable with where the conversation was heading. She added: “When Whitehall mentioned butt plugs, Jade gave him a pointed look before jerking her thumb at him - a subtle but clear gesture of irritation. She also touched her forehead, another classic sign of mild anxiety.
‘My mum’s right there,’ she reminded Jack, and as he wrapped up the segment, she was seen rolling her eyes - a silent but telling response.” Jade appeared overwhelmed by her win last night and now James has revealed that the singer's emotion had been 'genuine.' She said: “Jade’s reaction to her win proved she was one of the most down-to-earth stars of the night.
Shoving her speech notes into her bra in a moment of unfiltered excitement, she crouched down, mouth agape, in sheer disbelief. The 32-year-old solo performer had a less than easy time last night as she struggled to walk around whilst wearing her huge dress - particularly when collecting her award. Judi went on to say about the moment: “As she hurried towards the stage, her dramatic, flowing gown proved to be a challenge.
With her skirts billowing around her, she struggled up the steps, arms full of fabric, creating an unintentionally comical moment as her bustle swayed side to side. “Her speech carried the breathless energy of someone who truly hadn’t expected to win. Even though she had prepared some notes, the tiny, crumpled piece of paper in her hands only added to the genuine shock and charm of the moment.
