8. One reviewer said: "The food here is absolutely delicious!! My husband and I love the cheesy chips they have, we order then every time." And another one said: "The best chip shop in the local area without a doubt a great menu to choose from at a very reasonable price.

Also do gluten free options for you people that require that. Best to order ahead for pick as gets extremely busy at times." Mario's veggie options also get praise: "My favourite fish and chip shop in Bristol.

I used to get it delivered when I lived closer, but since moving house, I am not in their delivery radius. "I tried other chip shops, but nothing compares to Mario’s! So, I always make the trip over to go and grab my favourite me takeaway when I can. I am vegetarian and they always have good veggie options.

I tend to choose their battered halloumi and garlic mushrooms, and they always give me a generous portion of cheese on my cheesy chips too! Would definitely recommend." In second place came Hamblins on Avonvale Road, Barton Hill, (391 votes), and coming third was Argus Fish Bar on West Street, Bedminster (107 votes). They were followed by Fish and Fry on St Marks Road, Easton (56 votes) and Star Fish Bar on Bedminster Road (47 votes).
