West Men’s Division 2 Central: Bridgwater 1 3-1 Isca 4 Bridgwater Hockey Club men’s 1 sealed a victory over Isca fourths in their latest match in West Men’s Division 2 Central on Saturday (March 8). Despite the win, the one promotion spot is now out of reach with four games left to play. Westbury & United Banks are 13 points ahead.
The match, which took place at Trinity Sport Centre, saw Bridgwater take an early lead in the 15th minute through Paul Tilley. That lead was doubled on 27 minutes and the score remained 2-0 at half time. Isca looked to mount a comeback in the second half with George McCollum scoring on 45 minutes but Duncan Morrish-Reed put the game beyond doubt on 52 minutes.
Next up, Bridgwater Men’s firsts face ECVH firsts away from home a Culm Valley Sports Centre. Elsewhere, the women’s first were beaten 3-2 by Taunton Civil Service at home. With two games to go, Bridgwater Women’s 1 are two points clear of Mendip and Weymouth both in the bottom two.
And they face Mendip in their next game on Saturday (March 15)..
