Bridgeport Bar man pleads guilty in August shooting

WATERVILLE — Ruben Garcia-Ramirez, 31, pleaded guilty Dec. 5 in connection to a gang-related drive-by shooting in August in Bridgeport Bar.

The Douglas County Superior Court in Waterville. WATERVILLE — Ruben Garcia-Ramirez, 31, pleaded guilty Dec. 5 in connection to a gang-related drive-by shooting in August in Bridgeport Bar.

Garcia-Ramirez, of Bridgeport Bar, pleaded guilty in Douglas County Superior Court to two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and aiming or discharging a firearm or other dangerous weapon. Investigators say he was one of three people involved in a shooting in the area of Richards Avenue and Highway 173. Two others were arrested in connection to the shooting — Rosendo Saucedo Jr.



, 28, of Bridgeport, and Ivan Garcia-Ramirez, 29, of Bridgeport Bar. Saucedo was sentenced Oct. 17 to 54 months in prison.

Garcia-Ramirez’s case is still ongoing. Judge Brian Huber imposed a Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative, sentencing Garcia-Ramirez to six months of in-patient treatment and two years of community custody..
