We start the week for much of the region on a warm and windy note. West-southwest winds pick up to 10-20 mph for much of the region, and with that warming west breeze, highs will make it up into the mid-50s for much of the area around and south of the Twin Ports, with areas farther to the north staying in the low 50s. However, this still looks to come up just shy of the current record high of 58 in Duluth, which was set back in 2012.
By Monday night, the breeze will shift out of the northwest as a cold front moves in, bringing quick changes. A few spots through the Arrowhead could see a stray sprinkle or flurry early in the night, and temperatures will drop into the teens for the low. ADVERTISEMENT On Tuesday, highs will be close to freezing for most of northern Minnesota, as we return to seasonable spring weather briefly.
However, the rest of the week will see temperatures mellow out a little, with highs in the 40s before another system looks to move in heading toward the weekend..
