Finally earning a full-time starting role with Demarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons battling injuries for various parts of the season, the former third-round pick finished the season with 5.

5 sacks, 56 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, eight quarterback hits, and a 65.3 PFF grade, the 57th-best mark out of 118 eligible players. While he played well in his elevated role, it wasn’t enough to get the injury-riddled Cowboys into the playoffs.

Chauncey Golston originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft . Selected by the Dallas Cowboys, the Iowa product began his career in a situational role. Appearing in 15 games without making a start, the rookie finished his inaugural season with one sack, 32 tackles, and four quarterback hits as the team made the playoffs but ultimately lost in the Wild Card round to the San Francisco 49ers .

The edge defender saw a similar role in 2022. Buried behind established starters, Golston once again only played in relief and finished the season with one sack, 22 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and two quarterback hits. As a team, the Cowboys made it out of the Wild Card round but lost 19-12 in the divisional round to the San Francisco 49ers.

While he didn’t become a full-time starter in 2023, Golston made three starts in his third year while appearing in all 17 games. During his limited action, he recorded 1.5 sacks, 25 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and three quarterback hits.

Dallas secured the second seed in the conference but lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round. Since signing his rookie contract, Chauncey Golston has appeared in 64 games while making 16 starts. While on the field, the Iowa product has recorded nine sacks, 135 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, and 17 quarterback hits.
