Marumo Gallants have officially sacked both Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela and Technical Director Molefi Ntseki.Malesela had been the head coach since the return of Gallants to topflight football after Abram Sello bought Moroka Swallows. He was, at one stage, placed on ‘special leave’ but he returned to the club’s setup to lead the team again.

Ntseki, on the other hand, joined Gallants in November 2024 in what was his first ‘coaching’ gig since leaving Kaizer Chiefs. Now, the two experienced coaches have not been able to help Gallants improve their position on the PSL log.And the management, led by Sello, felt a change was needed sooner rather than later.

As things stand, Gallants find themselves in position 14 on the log with just 15 points from 17 league games. They are one point ahead of 15th-placed Magesi FC who have had a better run of late under coach Owen da Gama. Now, according to a statement released by the club, Gallants are in talks with former AS Vita coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

The club further stated that Sundra Govendor and Duncan Lechesa will lead Gallants in the interim. The pair worked closely with Malesela as his assistants until his departure at Bahlane Ba Ntwa. They are expected to be on the bench when Gallants welcome Polokwane City at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is 15:30.Should Gallants and Ouaddou not finalise talks before the end of February, then both Govendor and Lechesa will lead the team against Orlando Pirates on 1 March. MARUMO GALLANTS SACK MALESELA AND NTSEKIMarumo Gallants statement on Malesela and Ntseki departures.
