Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), under the aegis of the Embassy of India, organised ‘ICC Wednesday Fiesta’, a weekly cultural event celebrating Indian art and culture on Wednesday, April 9, at ICC Ashoka Hall. The event was inaugurated by Dr Vaibhav A Tandale, counsellor (head of chancery and consular), Embassy of India. The event showcased vibrant performances presented by various ICC AO’s and Arts Centres in Qatar.
ICC General Secretary Abraham K. Joseph welcomed the guests and dignitaries, followed by opening remarks by Shantanu Deshpande, ICC vice president. A P Manikantan, ICC president, thanked the community for their enthusiastic participation and support for the Wednesday Fiesta.
A felicitation address was delivered by P N Baburajan, chairman of the ICC Advisory Council. On the occasion, Birla Public School Principal Dr Anand R Nair was felicitated for his exceptional contributions in the field of education for the Indian community in Qatar. Ketan R Kanakhara and Mohammed Basheer, presidents of ICC-affiliated organisations Bharathi and Charishma Arts respectively, were also honoured for their significant contributions to the community.
