The new Boyzone documentary has been slammed by an X Factor star, who reckons Louis Walsh is being edited unfairly. The three-part Sky series called Boyzone: No Matter What, looks back at the Irish band's rise to fame as well as their fractious relationship with Louis, who managed the group from 1993. The former X Factor judge, 72, is criticised by Boyzone frontman, Ronan Keating , 47, in the documentary, who accuses Louis of ditching him during his subsequent solo career as well as making some 'really b****y comments'.
Fans also slammed Louis for his "sly smirk" when he saw the front page of late singer Stephen Gately being outed. Band member Keith Duffy branded Stephen's treatment following the media scrum as "absolutely scandalous", however, Louis remarks: "He got the front page". Despite the backlash, Union J star, Jaymi Hensley-Marmon, who was mentored by the music mogul in 2011 on the X Factor, reckons "LouLou" is "one of the most genuine people around" and is being given treated unfairly.
Taking to Instagram , praising the Dubliner, he said: "Haven’t watched it the Irish Boyband documentary, but have seen online comments! My experience of LouLou is one of pure honesty , care , friendship, and compassion! One of if not the most genuine person I have met in this rollercoaster of showbiz. "As a member of a “Louis Walsh” boyband , I can say he has always had my back. This Is a truly unremarkably caring man who I am honoured to call a friend! Not what tv producers want you to see, remember that!" Adding that Louis had been there for him since the tragic death of his fiance, Oliver, Jaymi said: "He made sure I was okay and to tell me there is life left in me to live!" Claiming the documentary is edited to make Louis look bad, he concluded: "As Louis once told me, it’s all in the edit! As the wizard says in the wicked film, the only way to bring people together is to give them a good enemy ! Well he isn’t it , and I think I can say that my following knows, I only speak the HONEST truth! I love you Mr Walsh always have Always will!" At the start of the documentary, Ronan says: "We were a bunch of kids put together.
We weren’t perfect, we weren’t polished." Then, in his own interview, Louis, taking a sip from a teacup, states: "I prefer ordinary people, because they work harder. And they do whatever you want at the start.
" Recollecting what it was like to work with Louis in the early days of their careers, singer Shane, 48, explains that he "promised us the sun, moon and stars". However, the X Factor star then laughs, quipping: "They believed their own publicity. They forgot I wrote it.
