ROCHESTER — Jackson Smith finished with a team-best 20 kills and also had nine digs as Mayo/Century/John Marshall won a five-set thriller 25-23, 20-25, 16-25, 25-16, 15-7 at Mayo High School. Rochester dropped two of the first three sets, before storming back to improve to 3-1 on the season. ADVERTISEMENT Eli Enke and Haziel Sagastume helped fuel the offense with 23 and 19 assists, respectively.

Peter Ha had eight kills, while Ben Ragland and Logan McQuilkin each tallied six for the Rochester attack. "It wasn’t our cleanest game from the start," coach Deb Frederick said. "We started a little slow and Minneapolis-Roosevelt was scrappy and we struggled with their block at times.



Jackson had a great offensive night with 20 kills and three aces. In set three, we had too many errors but bounced back with confidence in set four. They finished with energy.
