A 5-year-old boy in Arkansas was killed in front of his mother's eyes while on her bed at their mobile home. During a severe storm in Arkansas, a five-year-old boy died after a tree fell onto his mobile home. While at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas, Mario Lux-Pacheco, who was with his mom and siblings on Saturday April 5, popped into to his mothers room.
While sitting at the end of her bed, a tree fell onto the house and killed the child, ABC affiliate KATV reports . The boys mother, Cassandra Pacheco, and his three older siblings survived, KTHV reports. Cassandra told KTHV that it was raining when the power went out that morning, so she brought her kids into her bedroom in the back of the mobile home.
“My five-year-old was at the end of my bed,” Cassandra told the outlet. “Jumping around, playing like usual. The minute I saw he was going to get on the bed, I reached for him, and then everything went black.
” Cassandra told the outlet that after the tree fell, her legs were trapped and the home was destroyed. She added that she knew something was wrong after she couldn't find Mario, her youngest child. “After trying to search for him and calling everybody,” she said to KTHV.

“Take every moment you can to be with your kids." Since the tragedy, the community of Little Rock has been showing the Pacheco family its support. On Monday, the community gathered for a ballon release in Mario's honor, according to KATV.
