” Christie is aiming to be ready for the 2025-26 pre-season. Christie has scored two goals and assisted three in the league this season. He joined the club in 2021 having previously played as an attacking midfielder for Celtic, but has taken up a deeper role under Andoni Iraola this season.

The Scotland international has regularly featured in a Bournemouth side which is aiming for its first-ever season in European football. They sit 10th in the table, six points off seventh-placed Aston Villa. Ahead of Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United on Saturday, Iraola said Christie had been dealing with “a lot of injuries throughout the season” and the midfielder wanted to play through the pain.

“His situation is worrying because he has been dealing with a lot of injuries since the beginning of the season,” said Iraola. “He wanted to push and even with pain, he wanted to play and he has played very well for us. But it’s a situation that we have to analyse because I think it has arrived at a time where his body is telling him not to push too much.
