Eighteen-year-old Hayley Armstrong pleaded guilty to the offence which happened on January 6. The court heard that police were called around 8.30pm in relation to a separate matter.
They eventually located Armstrong who was in the common stairwell of her property and appeared “unruly and aggressive”. She struggled violently with officers as they put handcuffs on her. Defence lawyer Ross Dow said his client had fallen out with her partner and she had “panicked” when they arrested her.
He pointed out she was a first offender with a good work ethic and was in full-time employment. Mr Dow added that the matter the police were initially called about was no longer before the court. After listening to all the circumstances, Sheriff Kathrine Mackie granted Armstrong an admonition.
