Bootle fire LIVE: Smoke seen for miles with 'smell of petrol' filling air in UK city

Smoke could be seen for miles over Merseyside this morning after a fire broke out at the docks in Sefton. Firefighters rushed to the scene ata Alexandra Docks in Bootle at around 7.30am on Monday, April 28.

Four fire engines and a number of police cars are at the scene, the ECHO reports , while no workers are being allowed on the site. Traffic is being diverted away from the area as plumes of thick smoke can be seen all over Liverpool. THIS IS A LIVE BLOG.
