Bomb search at medical college of BV

Pune: The city police and bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) carried out a search operation at Bharati Vidyapeeth (BV)'s medical college in Katraj on Wednesday after the college authorities reported an email threat which claimed that a bomb was planted in the college. The threat turned out to be a hoax after the search revealed nothing suspicious on the college campus. DCP (zone II) Smarthana Patil told TOI, "Principal of the college, Dr Mandar Karmarkar, told police that the college received two threatening emails at 3.

45am and 8.43am on Wednesday. The police and BDDS searched the college but did not find anything incriminating.



We have given the IP address of the emails to the cybercrime police for investigation.." Senior inspector Dashrath Patil said, "We collected the details of the emails and tracked the IP to the Netherlands.
