The mayor of Bolton has been handed a cheque of £750 to support a charity fund. Cllr Andy Morgan , the mayor of Bolton, received the funds from the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund. According to the duchy, the fund is "a charity set up in 1993 with the consent of Queen Elizabeth II to support local good causes and community initiatives located primarily within the County Palatine" (Lancashire, Greater Manchester , and Merseyside, primarily).

"Each year the fund awards grants to each of the ten Civic Mayors of Greater Manchester for their chosen charities. "Thank you to the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester and her team for this very kind gesture.
