Visitors to a charity's upcycling workshop in Bolton have transformed textiles into household items. Emmaus Bolton's "Scrap Store" in Fletcher Street offers a range of recycled fabric and other art and craft supplies. To celebrate reuse during national Repair Week, everyone attending the workshop was invited to choose their own fabric for free.
Sarah Platt, a workshop participant from Bolton, said: "It's been a great, lovely introductory course for making my own draught excluder. "At the moment my heater's not working, so it will be a godsend. "I've really enjoyed it.
"Just a quick one-hour workshop and I've managed to make a full item. "There's a great team here. "They're lovely people to meet as well.
" Emmaus Bolton reuses "end-of-line", donated, and surplus items to reduce landfill and benefit the community. All money raised from the sale of used items at the store helps raise the charity provide a home, work experience, and opportunities for homeless people. Becca Coleman, workshop leader, volunteers every Friday at the store.

"The upcycling session was a great way to demonstrate what we do to help people get started on their journeys towards making something new.
" The "scrap store" is open from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays. Find out more at www.emmaus.
