A 25-year-old man identified as Bisikesan Kata was found hanging from a mango tree in his in-laws’ farmland in Patrapali village under Muribahal police jurisdiction in Bolangir district.According to sources, Bisikesan, a resident of Balipada village in Titlagarh, had married Satyabhama Hati (20) of Patrapali last year in March. The couple, along with other family members, had been staying in Patrapali for the past 15 days.
On Monday morning, Bisikesan stepped out of the house under the guise of washing himself and was later discovered by his wife, hanging from a tree in the field.Family members immediately informed the police, and the area was soon visited by Muribahal police, SDPO Lakshminarayan Marandi, Tehsildar Jagdish Kartami, and other officials. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem at Titilagarh hospital, while Muribahal police registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
The incident has left the community shaken, and the exact cause behind Bishikesan’s decision remains unknown.
