Bluemull Sound route down to single vessel again

THE BLUEMULL Sound ferry service will be covered by a single vessel for a second consecutive day. Continued mechanical problems with the Geira mean the route will run to a Saturday timetable again. THE BLUEMULL Sound ferry service will be covered by a single vessel for a second consecutive day. Continued mechanical problems with the Geira mean the route will run to a Saturday timetable again. All bookings have been suspended.

Shetland Islands Council apologised for any inconvenience caused. Yell Sound has also been a single vessel service since Wednesday, and will be today (Friday) too. On Wednesday the Whalsay service also briefly went down to a single vessel due to mechanical issues with the Hendra .
