New Delhi, October 21: Blinkit, a quick commerce platform owned by Zomato, is reportedly working on a new feature to introduce 30-minute deliveries for high-value items. The company, which is already well-known for its 10-minute delivery service, is now planning to enhance its offerings. The new category of high-value items is expected to target products that are valuable or bigger in size.

Blinkit hopes that this update will attract a wider audience and add more convenience to their current operations. As per a report of Moneycontrol , Blinkit is about to shift focus toward high-value items, delivering them in 30 minutes with “express dark stores”. Blinkit reportedly plans to set up “express dark stores” to facilitate these quick deliveries.

The decision to create a separate delivery option means that some items will take a little longer to arrive. The service will likely deliver products like air purifiers, instant water heaters, jewellery, and other valuable items within 30 minutes. Dark stores play a crucial role in fast delivery services. These are essentially small warehouses, ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 square feet in size. However, Blinkit’s “express dark stores” may be a bit larger, measuring around 7,000 to 8,000 square feet.

The extra space will allow them to store bigger items that require more space. Blinkit is anticipated to improve its ability to deliver a range of products quickly and efficiently by expanding the size of its dark stores. The decision can be seen as to manage the growing demand for fast delivery services and the need for companies to adapt to meet customer expectations.
