Amazon MGM Studios is quietly limiting public reaction to Another Simple Favor, Blake Lively’ s upcoming film, as legal tensions and online backlash continue to grow. When the trailer was released Monday on Prime Video ’s official YouTube channel, users were met with a blunt notice, “comments are turned off.” The move follows a similar choice made in February when the first teaser dropped.
Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet risk run in with her ex Travis Scott at Coachella Inside Kevin Costner’s nearly $200 million property in Carpinteria On Instagram, one user commented: “Wowww u guys decided to leave the comments sec open!! Bold move!!!” Others were less forgiving, stating they “can no longer watch anything with Blake Lively” and told Amazon not to “even bother promoting this.” Lively, meanwhile, limited who can comment on her own Instagram posts, reserving access to only those she follows back. She previously used the same restrictions when promoting earlier clips from the film, ensuring overwhelmingly positive replies.
The timing couldn’t be worse for the sequel, which continues the story of Emily (Lively) and Stephanie ( Anna Kendrick ) as they head to Italy for a lavish wedding. Lively remains embroiled in a public legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni , who has accused Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane of defamation and extortion in a $400 million lawsuit. One social media user asked on Amazon’s February post: “Is it Paul Feig’s cut or Blake’s cut?” Director Paul Feig responded directly, saying: “It’s my cut.
There is no other cut...
just wanted to clear that up.” He added: “Blake has been nothing but supportive and a dream to work with. She is the best and an amazing collaborator and I’m her biggest fan.
” Feig’s praise sparked more backlash. “Paul, I know you’re gonna wanna shake off these comments as coming from a bunch of loons, but Blake and Ryan really did use their star power to bulldoze Justin,” one commenter wrote. Another added: “You’ve been in the directing game for so long, so of course Blake isn’t going to attempt to step on your toes.
