Game Science has announced that the physical edition of Black Myth: Wukong for PlayStation 5 is “coming very soon.” The developer confirmed that the game’s master disc is ready, a key milestone toward its physical release. However, no specific release date has been provided.

Some reports suggest physical copies could be available in the US as early as today priced at $64.99, with a European release expected to follow shortly after. Meanwhile, Black Myth: Wukong has also been rated by the ESRB for Xbox Series X|S, receiving a T for Teen rating due to its content involving blood and gore, language, partial nudity, and violence.

This rating appears to put an end to speculation about the reasons for the delay of the Xbox version, which did not launch alongside the PC and PlayStation 5 versions in August. While the Xbox release was delayed, Microsoft and Game Science have both denied that this was due to technical limitations , with the ESRB rating indicating the Xbox version is progressing toward release. Rumors had circulated that difficulties optimizing the game for Xbox Series S might have been a factor, or that a potential exclusivity deal with Sony was in place.

However, these claims remain unconfirmed, and the recent ESRB rating suggests the Xbox release is approaching, though a specific launch date has yet to be announced. Black Myth: Wukong, inspired by Journey to the West, has been a significant success, selling over 10 million copies across PS5 and PC and driving substantial PS5 sales in China . With its beautiful visuals and challenging gameplay, it has made a strong impact in the action RPG genre, and the Xbox release is now highly anticipated.
