1 2 3 Prayagraj: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday attacked the Samajwadi Party for its "mismanagement during Kumbh Mela in 2007 and 2013" and said that under the BJP govt the 2019 Kumbh Mela was organized in an orderly manner which set new standards of grandeur and sanctity. He credited the success of the 2019 Kumbh to the efforts of all public representatives in his team and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for getting it recognized by Unesco as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate for bypoll in Phulpur constituency, Deepak Patel, the CM said that the Samajwadi Party's PDA was "production house of ‘dangai' (rioters) and ‘apradhi' (criminals)".
The CM said that notorious criminals like Atiq Ahmed (Prayagraj), Mukhtar Ansari (Ghazipur), and Khan Mubarak (Ambedkar Nagar) were products of the SP's production house. He cited the brutal murders of seven people, including BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai, Ramesh Patel, and Ramesh Yadav in Ghazipur, and said that the cases were ignored by the SP govt at the time. He also mentioned the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal by Atiq Ahmed's associates in Prayagraj in 2006.
The CM said that justice to these families was achieved after the double-engine govt came into power. "Phulpur should have a young and active MLA like Deepak Patel at a time when Prayagraj is all set to host the world's biggest religious congregations," he said. "This region is the sacred land of renowned socialist thinkers like Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, Jayaprakash Narayan, Acharya Narendra Dev, and Janeshwar Mishra, who ran an ideal socialist movement.
However, today's SP is a combination of mafia and criminals, and as a result, a popular slogan of ‘Dekh Sapai, bitiya ghabrayi' is sounding across the state," he said, adding that the SP always protected criminals. He contrasted the current govt's focus on development with the mismanagement of the past, where "funds would go into the pockets of the Saifai family and their agents". The CM assured the people that a permanent solution would be found for the flood-prone Kachhar region, highlighting that the govt's role was to provide solutions, not create problems.
He also discussed the steps taken for the welfare of martyrs and soldiers. He criticized the SP for opposing change in election dates and accused it of playing politics on issues like Ram Mandir, Ganga Snan, Hindu identity, and national pride. Referring to a recent resolution passed by the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly to reinstate Article 370, he made it clear that the New India, under PM Modi's leadership, would not accept this.
He said that India would have one leader, one Constitution, and one flag..
