New Delhi: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday claimed that his party was seeking votes based on its work, while BJP was asking for votes through abuse. People must decide if they want progress or profanity, he said. In a press statement, Kejriwal reiterated that BJP neither had a CM face, nor a narrative or vision for Delhi.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, however, alleged that Kejriwal did no real work in the capital in the past 10 years and was only involved in numerous corruption scandals. While accusing BJP and Congress of working in tandem, the former Delhi CM said his party was presenting its track record of 10 years and its plan for the next five, while BJP offered nothing but abuses. He urged BJP and Congress to "officially announce their alliance" against AAP.
"In the last ten years, they did no work. This is why BJP's only strategy is to win this election by abusing AAP. We are asking for votes based on our work," Kejriwal claimed.
"They have nothing constructive to offer. The public has to decide whether they will vote in the name of abuse or in the name of work," he added. AAP chief alleged that Delhi was facing a law and order breakdown, but Union home minister Amit Shah was indifferent.
"Traders are asking for protection from gangsters. Amit Shah should focus a little on Delhi's law and order," he said. Sachdeva said BJP-led central govt developed significant landmarks in Delhi, including Yashobhoomi, Bharat Mandapam, Eco Park, Bansera, Pragati Maidan tunnel, a third ring road, peripheral highways, Delhi-Meerut highway, and Alipur Bypass, apart from revitalising Ambedkar Memorial, Birsa Munda Chowk, and Kartavya Path.
"Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, DDA provided quality housing to over 5,000 slum dwellers. The PM's visionary schemes created better employment opportunities for Delhi's youth, along with new prospects as gig workers," Sachdeva claimed. "But Kejriwal did little for Delhi's growth.
He only gave scandals to Delhi, including the liquor policy scam, spying scandal, panic button scam, ration card scam, hospital construction scam, medicine and diagnostics scam, and classroom construction scam. The list of his corruption cases is endless," he added..
