The University of Exeter has been forced to take action following actions of an online 'troll' 180 miles away. The university has confirmed to CoventryLive that it has made an official report to Meta, which owns Facebook. It follows actions on Bedworth Community Forum Facebook page.

In recent weeks, posts have been made by an account, using the name and profile image of one of the university's professors - Jane Wittle. The fake account has been used to post politically motivated comments on the forum. It has also been used to post 'troll' comments to Bedworth and North Warwickshire's MP, Rachel Taylor.
