Birmingham City can take another step towards promotion today by beating Barnsley at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park. Blues take on the Tykes looking to continue their 20-game unbeaten run on home turf in League One and move beyond 90 points – a mark which has earned automatic promotion in nine of the last 10 seasons. Chris Davies’ team have an 11-point lead at the top of League One, with games-in-hand, and could be promoted on Tuesday at Peterborough United if results go their way.
First they must beat a Barnsley side which has faltered in recent weeks to fall out of contention for the play-offs. The 11th-placed side haven’t won in their last six games and are now under the management of ex-Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane. Blues won 2-1 at Oakwell when the two teams met in December courtesy of two goals from top scorer and talisman Jay Stansfield.
Alex Dicken is in position to see if Blues can complete another double in League One so stay tuned. 13:01 Alex Dicken Good afternoon from St Andrew's Hello from St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park where Blues play their 21st home match of the League One campaign - Blues are unbeaten in the previous 20.
