A couple of aspirants in the 2025 edition hope to enjoy the same fate. Katrina Anne Johnson almost took home a title when she competed in the 59th edition of the longest-running national pageant in the country when she finished as first runner-up. She returns this year in the competition, joining 35 other aspirants who were chosen to take part in the 2025 pageant during the final screening held last week.

Also staging a comeback is Anna Carres De Mesa, who advanced to the semifinals in the hotly-contested 2022 competition that saw a roster of formidable contenders, considered one of the strongest batches of ladies by many pageant observers. The most recent “balik-Binibini” beauty to boost her standing is 2024 second runner-up Trisha Martinez, who was a semifinalist in the preceding year. Among the more notable Bb.

Pilipinas returnees were 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, 2005 Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman, and 1984 Miss Universe runner-up Desiree Verdadero. And like Wurtzbach, 2014 Miss Universe Philippines MJ Lastimosa and 2004 Bb. Pilipinas Universe Maricar Balagtas also joined the national pageant a third time before receiving their crowns.

Johnson, now 27, is representing Davao in the 2025 Bb. Pilipinas pageant, while the 26-year-old De Mesa is carrying the province of Batangas in the national competition. And while she is technically not a “balik-Binibini” beauty, Mandaluyong City’s Jemille Zosa is bringing the Rustia family back on the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

The third generation Binibini has 1968 Bb. Pilipinas second runner-up Benigna Rustia for a grandmother, while her mom Marilou Rustia participated in the 1995 national pageant. Subscribe to our daily newsletter By providing an email address.
