Bill Murray and Bruce Willis ' friendship goes way back. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Monday, March 31, Murray, 74, recalled meeting Willis, 70, back when he was working behind the scenes of Saturday Night Live before his big acting break. “Bruce Willis was a page at NBC when I was on Saturday Night Live ," the Lost in Translation star — who is a five-time SNL host and former cast member — told WWHL host Andy Cohen and fellow guest, his The Friend co-star Naomi Watts .
"This sounds like insane s---, but his job was to come and go to the dressing rooms and refill the M&Ms and pretzels kind of thing in the actors’ rooms,” Murray, who made his debut on SNL as a cast member in 1977 before he left in 1980, continued of Willis. "I always thought 'Okay, I'm good with this guy.
' He was a good guy." Willis has since gone on to host SNL twice; in 1989 and 2013. The Die Hard actor and Murray ended up starring in the 2012 movie, Moonrise Kingdom , together, which the latter called "a really beautiful, lovely film" during his WWHL interview.
"I got to work with and have a wonderful time with [him],” Murray said of Willis, who was catapulted to fame with his breakout television role in the '80s series Moonlighting . “Bruce Willis is a good guy, a good f–--ing guy. He was a good friend,” Murray added.
Willis recently celebrated a milestone birthday as he turned 70 on Wednesday, March 19. To mark the special occasion, his wife, Emma Heming Willis , 46, shared a video on her Instagram Stories the following day, showing some of the dozens of messages Willis received. "Bruce had a great day.

Willis' family previously announced in 2022 that he was retiring from acting following his aphasia diagnosis.
The family shared that his condition had progressed into frontotemporal dementia in early 2023, and he has largely stayed out of the spotlight since. Heming Willis, who met her husband in 2007 and married him in 2009, has taken on a caregiver role and semi-frequently shares updates with his fans through Instagram. The couple share two daughters ; Mabel Ray, 13, and Evelyn Penn, 10.
The acting icon also shares daughters Rumer Willis , 36, Scout Willis , 33, and Tallulah Willis , 31, with his ex-wife Demi Moore , 62. Read the original article on People.
