Big finish gives Troup a 50-45 decision over rival Arp

TROUP – Troup rallied in the second half to over take Arp and defeat the visitors, 50-45, Tuesday night.

TROUP – Troup rallied in the second half to over take Arp and defeat the visitors, 50-45, Tuesday night. Arp carried a 24-17 lead into the third stanza, but Troup outscored its guests, 33-20, in the second half to pull off the comeback victory. Braxton Barton and Caden Graves canned 14 points apiece for Troup, while Carter Graves (8) and Keenan Foster (6) made significant contributions.

Troup sank seven triples, compared to Arp making six shots from beyond the arc. Caden Graves and Carter Graves had two treys each. Arp (13-5, 5-2) was paced offensively by Cade Ward and Landon Smith, who each dropped in 11 points.



Ward swished three triples and Smith made good on two. Troup (19-6, 5-2) and Arp are tied for second place in the district standings behind Tatum. Troup’s next game is scheduled for 7:45 p.
