Big Dom is the silent mastermind keeping Nick Sirianni calm and bringing Philadelphia Eagles back from chaos

Who is the man in the shadows that resides on the sideline in Philadelphia? His name is Dom DiSandro. Most people know him as 'Big Dom'. He is the hulking figure that stalks the hallways and sidelines at Lincoln Financial Field.

DiSandro is in his 26th season with the Eagles and serves as the senior advisor to the general manager, chief security officer and game day coaching operations. It's quite a title. But what does it mean.

Basically, he oversees all safety and security matters for players, coaches, and executives. In other words, no one steps foot in the stadium or around the organization without DiSandro knowing about it. This year, on more than one occasion, he has been seen keeping head coach Nick Sirianni from losing his cool, whether on opposing players or his own fans.

He has had to reel in the enigmatic coach at times, including during a postgame altercation between Sirianni and Washington Commanders tight end (and former Eagle) Zach Ertz. The 'Sirianni-handler' some would call him. DiSandro has helped contain the chaos and off the field distractions this season, that ultimately led to the demise of last year's Eagles.

Big Dom fell into the spotlight last season after he was ejected during an altercation on the sideline with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw in Week 13. The NFL suspended the head security man from the sidelines for the rest of the season. The Eagles finished the year losing five of their last six games after that, including defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round.

Sirianni was reportedly on the brink of losing his job. Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio were brough in run the offense and defense, and despite having his moments Sirianni has remained cool. It means DiSandro hasn't had too much nonsense to deal with this season, and it has paid off for the Eagles.

Philadelphia finished the season 14-3, capturing the two seed in the NFC, and have since advanced to the NFC championship this Sunday against the Commanders. Thanks to the Commanders' upset victory over the Detroit Lions , the Eagles will be hosting the conference championship game. DiSandro will be on the lookout, prowling the sidelines, making sure everything is in order.

And just know, if someone gets out of line, Big Dom will know about it. And take care of it. Fans included.

During the Eagles wild card win against the Green Bay Packers , a Philly fan went viral for harassing a Packers fan in the stands. NFL reporter Derrick Gunn said DiSandro handled the situation. “Big Dom has identified the guy and woman involved in this incident,” Gunn wrote on X.

"The guy will be banned from future Eagles games .. the Eagles will be sending the woman Packers gear as an apology .

. Eagles once again showing what a class organization they are.” Don't try Big Dom, not now.

Not ever. The Eagles are two wins away from hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. Everything is on the line.

A line that Big Dom won't let anyone cross, not even his own head coach.
