Kannada star Dr Shivarajkumar, who is basking in the success of Bhairathi Ranagal, has reiterated that a sequel to it is in the works. Shivanna further revealed that the official title of the sequel will be announced soon and clarified that it will not be called ‘Mufti 2’. Going for a hat-trick Directed by Narthan, Bhairathi Ranagal is made under Shivarajkumar’s home banner—Geetha Pictures and is produced by his wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar.
It marks the second film under the banner after the success of Vedha. Released in 2022, Vedha was directed by choreographer turned director Harsha. Shivanna portrayed a key role in the revenge ‘women-centric’ drama.
“I am thankful to the audience for making the first two films made under the Geetha Pictures banner a massive hit. The first was about women power and the second was based on the character that the audience loved in Mufti,” Shivanna said, adding that he is hopeful for a hat-trick with the third one, A for Anand, which was recently announced under the banner. Karunada Chakravarthy Dr Shivarajkumar has reiterated that the sequel to 'Bhairathi Rangal' is very much on and that he will soon announce the official title to it. Touted as Kannada’s first prequel, Bhairathi Ranagal has been performing decently at the Box Office since its release on November 15. It has so far collected Rs. 12 crores worldwide.
