BGB dismantles insurgent hideout in Bandarban

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Thursday dismantled an insurgent hideout in a remote hilly region near Bandarban border, recovering a substantial arsenal of weapons, ammunition, drones, and advanced technological devices.The operation was initiated following intelligence reports indicating that a group of insurgents had set up a concealed base deep in jungles of Dopanichhara area, close to Ruma upazila.Under the leadership of Lt Col Hasibul Haque, the BGB-9 Ruma Battalion executed an operation approximately 5.5 kilometers southeast of the border. The haul included two automatic carbines, one semi-automatic assault rifle, three submachine guns, 21 rounds of live ammunition, one advanced drone, a sophisticated signal jammer, an audio/video recorder, a video camera, a tech-based button camera for intelligence purposes, a hidden video recorder, binoculars, two walkie-talkies, a laptop, two powerful lights, a solar power system, a satellite TV receiver, an umbrella, two Android phones, two feature phones, various locally-made sharp weapons, Bangladeshi liquor, a helmet, and cooking supplies.



Additionally, the site contained observation posts, trenches, a temporary armory, a rest area, and a cookhouse, all of which were completely dismantled during the operation..
