In the cold winter months going out for a warming drink like a hot chocolate can be a nice way to spend an afternoon in Brighton. Obviously, there is a huge abundance of coffee shops and cafes in the city that will serve it, so it might be tough to find the best spots for the drink. Therefore, we thought it might be best to ask our readers for their recommendations.

We put out a Facebook post asking the question and here are the responses we received. Best spots for hot chocolate in Brighton More than 50 comments were left on the post, with a fair few places being recommended as great spots for a hot chocolate. Knoops over on Market Street in The Lanes was one of the most popular, with several readers heaping praise on it.



One person wrote: "Knoops in the Lanes. Go for the darkest % of Milk Chocolate and add a pinch of sea salt. It’s a taste sensation.

"Also Caffè Nero’s Millionaires Hot Chocolate is pretty spectacular." Another simply said they make the "best hot chocolates/ milkshakes ever". Aside from Knoops there were plenty of spots which only had one or two recommendations, meaning there was plenty of variety.

Hotel Chocolat in North Street was one of those, as one posted: "Hotel chocolat north street i also bave [have] one of their chocolate makers at home yummy." Meanwhile, one reader said Melissa's Cafe on Ditchling Road is "the best" for hot chocolate. In terms of other suggestions, one person recommended the cafe inside Dice Saloon while Mila's Cafe on Portland Road was also brought up.

Mila's Cafe is also generally well-received by visitors with it earning a 4.9/5 score on Google Reviews from 137 ratings. One reviewer shared: "I love this place - warm, friendly and fantastic food and drinks.
