Overwatch 2 has given us our clearest look yet at Hero 45 during the playtest for the new Stadium mode , giving fans a better idea of their look and playstyle. Blizzard have already revealed the next two characters coming to Overwatch 2, with Freja coming in Season 16 and Aqua arriving in Season 18. This will take the roster to an impressive 44 heroes, but this hasn’t stopped the devs from teasing Hero 45 anyway.
Fans have long been asking for more melee characters to play as, with a kit that revolves around a giant sword being the most common request. This is something that even Game Director Aaron Keller has acknowledged , teasing that it’s something they’ve discussed internally. Now, after the playtests for the new Stadium mode went live, players have spotted the best look yet of what the new hero will look like.
OW2 Hero 45 spotted on Stadium map On the new Arena Victoriae map for Stadium, a poster can be seen on the wall with a silhouette of a character wearing what appears to be armor and holding a large sword. This very same sword can also be found displayed elsewhere on the map, heavily implying that it’s a melee hero. Under both displays are the roman numerals XLV, meaning 45, which all but confirms that this is the character that will likely join the roster after Aqua.

com/ZM7j2umKJe While we don’t get a clear look at their design or even an official name, the writing under the numbers does offer a little information. The Italian phrase “Lu Lupa” translates to “She Wolf,” and while this is unlikely to be their final name, it could be the codename being used internally and might even hint at what their armor will look like. Related When is Overwatch 2 Season 16? Freja, Stadium mode, hero bans, more Little else is known about Hero 45, but based on Freja and Aqua being Damage and Support respectively, they’re widely expected to be a Tank.
New heroes drop every two seasons in OW2, so we won’t see Hero 45 in all her glory until Season 20. But fans can look forward to plenty more hints and teases in the coming months..
