The Pixel 9 Pro XL is the most expensive phone from Google right now, at least, out of the ones that don’t fold. Through an insane Best Buy deal, the Pixel 9 Pro XL was briefly $500 off, but it seems that was a short-lived event or a glitch. Out of Google’s four main Pixel 9 models, the Pixel 9 Pro has two distinct sizes.

The main Pixel 9 Pro model takes on the same design as the small Pixel 9, but it carries a better camera and better screen, which also means it’s more expensive. All of Google’s Pixel 9 phones house Google Gemini and some welcome AI features in Android 15. At any other time, the Pixel 9 Pro XL sells for $1,099.

That isn’t so abnormal in 2025, but it’s still not cheap. During what was seemingly a glitch event or an insanely quick deal, Best Buy hosted a crazy sale that had the Pixel 9 Pro XL listed for only $599 . This was originally posted on Reddit , and it seemed like at least one user corroborated that the deal was real for at least a short time.

One even noted that the order they placed is currently in a “preparing for pickup” state. That was $500 off of the original price tag for the 128GB model in Obsidian and Porcelain. The 256GB model is also only $699.

What’s even more surprising about this deal is the lack of a trade-in requirement. Generally, Best Buy caveats these sales with a trade-in option that will get you a good price at the cost of your current phone. That wasn’t the case here, and the Pixel 9 Pro XL was $599 without a traded device.

There’s no info on how long this deal lasted, but it’s now completely gone from the website. On the surface, it appeared Best Buy was selling the Pixel 9 Pro XL for $599, but once added to the cart, the price was set to the full MSRP. This got our hopes up, but it seems too good to be true.

The Pixel 9 Pro phones are highly regarded as some of the best Android phones in the last year or so, and it even won phone of the year at MWC . We won’t ever tell you to buy the phone, but this was one of the best Pixel 9 Pro deals we’ve seen this year, even if it may have been a website error.
