The organs will save lives of three patients. Manoj, who worked in a private firm, hailed from Aripada village in Kendrapara district.

He met with an accident and was admitted to the institute four days ago. He sustained serious injuries on his neck and was being treated by the doctors. After battling for life he succumbed to his injuries.

Following his death, Manoj’s father Kailash decided to donate the organs of his son so that other lives could be saved. Institute’s medical superintendent RC Das said, “Organ donation is a regular process governed by strict guidelines. Every brain-dead case is assessed to ensure the possibility of organ donation as per the government mandate.

In this instance, the father himself came forward, expressing his willingness to donate his son’s organs. His realisation of the value of organ donation is truly inspiring.” The donated two kidneys and one liver will be transplanted to patients in separate hospitals in Bhubaneswar.

“Three lives will be saved because of this generous act,” Das added, expressing gratitude to Kailash for his courageous decision. KIIT, KIMS and KIMS founder Achyuta Samanta has expressed his deepest gratitude to the father for his act of kindness.
