The much-anticipated Namma Metro Yellow Line in Bengaluru is set to commence operations on January 6. This new line will connect RV Road to Bommasandra, covering key areas like Electronics City, a hub for prominent companies such as Infosys and Biocon . Tejasvi Surya, Lok Sabha MP from Bengaluru South, confirmed the updates on social media.
He announced, “We now have the first train ready to be dispatched to Bengaluru on January 6th. Titagarh has committed to deliver the second train by the end of January or the first week of February and the third in April. Thereafter they will deliver one train per month and increase to two trains per month by September.

The line will connect essential areas such as Electronic City, Bommanahalli, and HSR Layout, linking Silk Board to Bommasandra.

By August 2025, this will expand to 36 trains, including 15 six-coach sets. The Bangalore Yellow Line Metro will operate from 5 AM to 11 PM, with the following train frequencies: Peak hours: Trains will run every 6–10 minutes Non-peak hours: Trains will run every 10–15 minutes Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line Timeline and Future Plans Initially scheduled to operate in 2024, the Yellow Line now aims to begin commercial operations by January-end 2025.
Once fully operational, it will enhance access to Electronics City, a critical zone for IT and biotechnology firms, and improve the overall connectivity in Bengaluru.
