
Bengaluru: A 10-year-old girl was subjected to a gang rape in the Anekal area of Bengaluru Rural district on March 3, according to the police officials. According to police reports, the crime took place on the afternoon of March 3, when the young girl was walking home from school. A local man, identified as Kiran, engaged her in conversation and lured her to the roadside.
He then threatened her with a knife and, together with his friend Prajwal, forced her into the home of a woman named Bhumika. Inside the property, the accused allegedly gangraped the minor girl. They reportedly burned the survivor's body with cigarettes before the sexual assault.
When the traumatised child finally reached her home, she disclosed the ordeal to her family. The family immediately notified the Child Protection Officer's office, leading police to register a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Swift action by the police led to the arrest of both suspects, Kiran and Prajwal.
