He might have proven his skills on land, but former footy star Ben Cousins will test his ability at sea level on Saturday November 23 at the annual Mix94.5 Masters Milk Carton Regatta. Held at Hillarys Boat Harbour, the popular event of the 90’s and early 2000’s was revived a few years ago and boasts several cash prizes for worthy participants.

Joining the former Eagle on a boat made entirely of Masters milk cartons will be radio host Kymba Cahill and 7NEWS reporter Samantha Jolly. With 28 teams in contention, the Dancing With The Stars favourite has expressed his hopes of claiming top honours. “I’m very competitive, I want to win!” he told Mix94.

5’s Pete & Kymba for Breakfast. The public is encouraged to vote on the Best Designed Boat, with the winning team claiming $5000 for their unique creation. A sum of 25,000 Masters milk cartons are required to construct the buoyant watercraft.

In 2023, Balcatta Senior High School’s Moo Moo Sharks claimed victory with their Great White shark-inspired vessel. Rewarding speed and sturdiness, each regatta’s winning team will pocket $1000, with second and third place getters also offered prizing. Race proceedings will take place between 10am to 1pm on Saturday, with a host of family entertainment also available including free carnival rides, a petting zoo, and face painting.
